(above) Male Golden Eagle, Jan 2010 Hi, and welcome to my website. Basically the site contains six portfolios of pictures, consisting of: Birds, some limited wildlife, and a few landscapes. They illustrate a progression from the early days with a basic digital camera, to using an entry level DSLR - and finally a semi pro DSLR. All of the images were taken on the Kintyre Peninsula in south west Argyll within the last three years - and most were (roughly) in the Campbeltown/south Kintyre area. As well as taking pictures of birds,I also enjoy writing about them,and there are articles available to read in the: ''my writing/news section'' Obviously the birds involved are rare and vulnerable - so no specific place names have been used in my essays, although I'm sure many locals will readily recognise the sites hinted at..... A big thank-you to anyone who has signed the guestbook etc. The kind messages I have received have been very gratifying,and really make all the hard work involved with getting images of this kind worthwhile. Lastly, and while I'm in the thanking mood! Thanks to those who has helped me over the years with transport, funding, encouragement, and many, many other things. This site certainly wouldn't be possible without you. ***** IMPORTANT NOTE ***** Please remember that by law a license is required to approach rare breeding birds at their nest sites. 99.9 percent of images featured on this website were taken well away from breeding areas, and were NOT taken in the breeding season. Any others were by accidental discovery - and with absolutely minimal disturbance. Also, all images are re-sized - and as such lose a little quality compared to the original files. |
